Highly prized by fans of natural wines, Cabernet Franc is an iconic red grape variety of the Loire Valley, vinified as a single varietal to produce light and fruity red wines. It is, however, native to the South West; it is actually one of the oldest Bordeaux grape varieties, born from a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. It is used in the creation of powerful, age-worthy wines (Pomerol, Saint-Émilion) for its freshness and elegance.
