Red Submarine 1945 (AOC Brouilly)
/
#Exclusive
A partnership between two high-flying benefactors: Jacques Juillard, the seasoned old hand on one side, and Cyrille Alonso, the expert in sulfite-free winemaking on the other. The result? Exactly as one would expect: a high-flying Brouilly—ultra-digestible, fruity, and with a lovely verticality, likely thanks to the aging in jars.
A discreet and noble nose, slightly smoky, with ripe red fruit. The palate follows the same aromatic range—tonic, delicious, and long, with more structure than its little brothers, the Beaujolais-Villages you may have already tasted. This is the Brouilly we dream of being served alongside our BBQ grills, our bò bún, our sausage and mash or our stuffed vegetables.
And by the way... 1945 refers to the year the Gamay vines were planted, making them 80 years old! And Red Submarine? We'll let you guess... By the time you figure it out, the wine will have opened up perfectly for an optimal tasting.
Note: That's Jacques for you... Having run out of labels, he applied a generic "Brouilly" label from his estate to about fifty bag-in-boxes instead. It's not what we would have done, but we preferred to accept his shipment as is rather than send it all back for re-labeling. In short, don't be surprised if you come across one of these boxes—the wine is obviously the same! 😉

🤗 Our tasting & storage tips
🤗 Our tasting & storage tips
Recommended serving temperatures:
- White and rosé wines: between 7 and 10°C
- Light red wines, orange wines (skin-contact whites), and "blouges" (light red-white blends): around 13°C
- Structured red wines: between 15 and 18°C
It is always better to serve a wine slightly too cool than too warm.
BIB (bag-in-box) wines are very good if you serve them directly from the tap. But "to your surprise," you will find that they always benefit from being decanted or bottled 15 to 30 minutes before tasting.
Before and after opening, it is ideal to store your BIB wine at a constant temperature below 20°C. The closer the storage temperature is to 14°C, the longer the wine will keep.
Once opened, under good storage conditions, the BIB preserves the organoleptic qualities of the wine for at least 4 weeks.
BIB wine, like bottled wine, has no "use by" date or "best before" date.
That said, BIB wine is not intended for cellar aging. We recommend consuming it within 2 months of purchase.
Note: Red and orange wines keep better and longer than white and rosé wines. Thank the tannins for that!
Enjoy your tasting! 🍷🍷
