2023 Savagnin Ouillé (Vin de France)
/
#Exclusive #NoSulfitesAdded
La Loue is the name of the river that flows through Port-Lesney, one of the prettiest villages in the Jura, where Catherine has been creating her wines since 2008 in the purest "natural" tradition (she was trained by Pierre Overnoy and Manu Houillon): certified organic vines, meticulous manual harvests, indigenous yeasts; inputs, filtration, and fining are, of course, strictly forbidden.
Her Savagnin is her signature cuvée. And after the episodes of frost, hail, drought, and heatwaves of previous vintages, 2023 and its 3 years of aging mark its grand return: beautiful maturity, concentrated ripe fruit but with preserved acidity and freshness, balance, lovely aromatic expression... everything we love about this endemic Jura grape variety!
The color is slightly cloudy. On the nose, there are notes of applesauce, frangipane, and citrus zest (a bit marked by its "natural" side, let’s be honest). It moves quickly to the palate, where the lemon becomes candied, quince makes an appearance, and mirabelle plum and pineapple follow closely, discreetly. It is milky, chalky, long on the finish, and that tension from start to finish... this 2023 Savagnin delivers on its promises!
A perfect companion for our white fish, morel mushroom crusts, onion tarts, small Asian delicacies, cooked-pressed cheeses, and lightly sweetened pastries...

🤗 Our tasting & storage tips
🤗 Our tasting & storage tips
Recommended serving temperatures:
- White and rosé wines: between 7 and 10°C
- Light red wines, orange wines (skin-contact whites), and "blouges" (light red-white blends): around 13°C
- Structured red wines: between 15 and 18°C
It is always better to serve a wine slightly too cool than too warm.
BIB (bag-in-box) wines are very good if you serve them directly from the tap. But "to your surprise," you will find that they always benefit from being decanted or bottled 15 to 30 minutes before tasting.
Before and after opening, it is ideal to store your BIB wine at a constant temperature below 20°C. The closer the storage temperature is to 14°C, the longer the wine will keep.
Once opened, under good storage conditions, the BIB preserves the organoleptic qualities of the wine for at least 4 weeks.
BIB wine, like bottled wine, has no "use by" date or "best before" date.
That said, BIB wine is not intended for cellar aging. We recommend consuming it within 2 months of purchase.
Note: Red and orange wines keep better and longer than white and rosé wines. Thank the tannins for that!
Enjoy your tasting! 🍷🍷
